On 20th of July, it is announced that AI-based medical ICT company AIDOT (CEO Jae-hoon Jeong), along with Professor Chang-seok Bang's team at the Department of
Gastroenterology at Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital has started developing an AI solution which provides a comprehensive service for all areas of gastrointestinal endoscopy,
from gastroscopy to small intestine capsule endoscopy and colonoscopy.
This development started in earnest after AIDOT was recently selected for the 'Big Data Technology Development Project' supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the
'Global SW Company Fostering Project' of the Information and Communications Promotion Association (IITP). AIDOT has confirmed the function definition as an optimized diagnosis
solution that can jointly analyze and support additional items and improvements with related specialists and professors for the AI-based endoscopic diagnosis assistance system in
the field of digestive system.
Through this opportunity, AIDOT plans to develop the world's first real-time AI endoscope CDSS (Clinical Decision Support System) system that can be immediately commercialized in the field.
Min-chan Park, the director of AIDOT’s corporate affiliated research institute, which oversees AI development said that “The stomach, small intestine, and large intestine have
something in common as digestive organs, but there are many differences in detail, and AIDOT is confident that it has the most advanced technology in the field of gastroenterology
and artificial intelligence by possessing and applying individual algorithms optimized for each organ."
He added, “We will do our best to increase the accuracy and efficiency of patient care and treatment by applying the ‘real-time lesion tracking algorithm’ developed by AIDOT to all
areas of the digestive tract.”
Professor Chang-seok Bang of Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital said, “We plan to make efforts so that the real-time lesion tracking gastroscopy artificial
intelligence solution, which is already in the completion stage, can be introduced to the medical world first. Also, we will work hard to ensure that the fields of capsule endoscopy and
colonoscopy, which are under further research, are recognized both at home and abroad.”
Currently, AIDOT is conducting global sales activities with its overseas expansion partner, 'Snet System'.
AIDOT and Snet Systems are promoting the joint advancement of Cerviray AI, an artificial intelligence solution for cervical cancer, and artificial intelligence solution for carotid artery
ultrasound into China, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The company plans to actively promote artificial intelligence systems in all fields of gastroenterology and secure prior awareness
by pioneering overseas markets.
AIDOT CEO Jae-hoon Jeong said, “In line with the Korean version of the New Deal policy recently announced by the government, we will quickly preoccupy domestic AI medical ICT
technology in overseas markets and will be reborn as a company that can contribute to Korea’s advancement into a global leading country.”
