AI is a business model that increases the final diagnosis rate by playing an auxiliary role, not replacing a doctor.

Buzzpole Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Jae-hoon), which developed an artificial intelligence-based cervical cancer remote detection system, has already entered into China. It announced that

it produced meaningful results by learning the presence or absence of cerebral aneurysm rupture based on angiography for the first time in the world by artificial intelligence. This

study conducted with Professor Jeon Jin-pyeong of Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital was published in the international journal ‘Jorunal of Clinical medicine’.

He said that the study is focusing on rupture, not diagnosis, so the study was conducted in a way that could help in determining the treatment policy in actual clinical practice. As a

similar case, a study focusing on cerebral aneurysm diagnosis itself using MRA was conducted in Japan, but the study on this time is the first to focus on whether it is rupture or not.

Buzzpole has agreed with existing partners to service the cerebral hemorrhage prevention system targeting China's elderly care business by combining it with artificial intelligence,

focusing on its know-how and capabilities in overseas expansion. In Korea also, through an agreement with Gangwon Information & Culture Center and Hallim Chuncheon Sacred

Heart Hospital, it was decided to conduct a pilot service free of charge for medically vulnerable areas in Gangwon-do and establish a business cooperation model with medical

institutions in the region. As it has already been finally selected for the ‘Private Intelligent Information Service Expansion’ task of the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA),

public confidence and budget have been secured, and service construction has already begun in earnest from last May. This project diagnoses the prevention of cerebral hemorrhage

in advance, including artificial intelligence diagnosis services related to simple cerebral infarction and dementia, and expands the scope of diagnosis by combining genetic

information, it plans to upgrade it into a comprehensive brain disease diagnosis and prevention service that incorporates Korea's excellent medical technology.

China and Southeast Asia are already showing great interest in artificial intelligence services that combine Korea’s excellent medical technology, and in particular, Quadrant, a joint

artificial intelligence research institute of Buzzpole, is also showing interest in additional joint research, which could be commercialized later this year. The plan is to launch the first

product that has existing products and proceed with domestic and international licensing procedures at the same time.

It is important time for competitive service recognized at overseas...

CEO Jae-hoon Jeong said, “ Few days ago, I read an article at Google that said that up to 94.4% of lung cancer diagnoses were made through ‘Google A.I’. In order for Korea's medical AI-related technologies and services to be competitive, we need a service model and technology that only we can do. To do so, we need a business model that increases the final

diagnosis rate by positioning doctors as an auxiliary role that can make good judgments, rather than recognizing that artificial intelligence replaces doctors. It is already

commercialized overseas, but it is regrettable that Korea is only approached as if it were a great technology, saying that it will replacing doctors in Korea. There are still many

regulations in Korea, so there is no real market, so we will actively pioneering overseas expansion, creating a success case, and then re-entering Korea is the way to quickly lift the

regulations.”

It is important to become a business model by securing a high AI-based diagnosis rate and positioning it as an auxiliary role to help doctors make decisions. Companies that have

already jumped into lung cancer diagnosis, such as Google in the U.S. and SenseTime in China, are already increasing their competitiveness with powerful big data, so they can enter

other cancer diagnosis services right away.

CEO Jung Jae-hoon pinched and said, “Despite the fatal weakness of the Korean artificial intelligence medical market due to various regulations, there should not be a market

atmosphere that says artificial intelligence technology will replace doctors right away. It is an important point to have a competitive service that is recognized overseas, rather than a

hope in a place looking at some money games in Korea.”

Buzzpole is preparing a bridgehead for entering Southeast Asia with a win-win business strategy that promotes the overseas expansion of Korean medical staff as it is simultaneously pursuing local licensing in Singapore with its main business in China.
