Buzzpole Co., Ltd., a leader in the field of medical ICT and a pioneer of next-generation medical diagnostic technology, announced that it has developed an artificial intelligence 

remote reading system that screens the risk of stroke through carotid ultrasound and is about to be applied clinically.

Buzzpole received thousands of IRB-approved carotid ultrasound image DBs from Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, a demand institution, and applied them to 

artificial intelligence learning. Also, In the process of determining whether artificial intelligence is dangerous, it obtained a high accuracy of 90%, and is currently undergoing testing 

through an internationally recognized certification body to secure objectivity of accuracy.

Buzzpole, together with G&R, a joint research institute, discovers candidate genomes related to stroke in Koreans, leads personalized stroke care through an integrated approach of 

artificial intelligence and genome, and collaborates with the Gangwon Information Culture Center It plans to focus on providing stroke prevention screening services.

Professor Jin-pyung Jeon of the Department of Neurosurgery at Hallym Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital said, “It is meaningful in leading precision medicine that combines artificial intelligence and genome for the first time in the world, and it is expected that it will be possible to enter the Asian market, including China.”

Buzzpole predicted that if preventive medicine is realized through such research and development, it will be possible to reduce the financial burden of health insurance due to stroke.

Buzzpole believes that if the number of stroke patients decreases by about 10%, it will save 860 billion won in social and economic costs annually. In particular, if this diagnostic 

service is provided to 2 million of China's 220 million or older population, it is estimated that about 40 billion won in exports can be achieved.

In particular, this study, which verifies stroke candidate genomes, can build data specific to Koreans and has the effect of preoccupying Asian data, which is different from Westerners, so expectations are high. Buzzpole has already conducted an artificial intelligence stroke risk analysis based on 3D cerebrovascular angiography data, and announced that this is a 

preliminary study for a solution combining carotid ultrasound and genome.

Buzzpole has been expanding artificial intelligence development personnel since January of this year to expand such artificial intelligence research, and earlier this year recruited 

Dr. Dong-hyun Lee, an expert in data analysis and intelligent search algorithm design, to develop artificial intelligence-based Developed a self-reading algorithm. He developed a 

scheduling system in the field of ship engine production schedule management with artificial intelligence algorithms, and was in charge of discovering new growth engine businesses such as Mobile Payment, SmartCard application business, and SK C&C's Data Analysis field and SK C&C's Converged ICT field.

In particular, Dr. Lee mentioned, in particular, that our cervical cancer reading technology has full color image which is different from the black and white image reading images of 

existing medical image reading companies. So, it is an algorithm optimized for lesion extraction and detection of cervical images.

Buzzpole CEO Jae-hoon Jeong said that our employess are all having great talents such as marketing executives in the healthcare field with more than 20 years of experience, as well as deep learning engineers from KAIST, and so far many new members are joining the company one after another. Inthe future we are plan to serve Korea as an R&D center for 

overseas expansion, and supply Cerviray AI cervical cancer artificial intelligence service as soon as the European CE certification and KFDA certification, which are 

currently in progress. All progress will be completed early next year through Buzzpole's overseas joint ventures.

In particular, CEO Jeong said, “Regarding CE certification in Europe, we will promote CE MDR certification, a new certification for the first time in the field of artificial intelligence 

medical ICT in Korea. This is different from CE MDD certification, which expires in May next year. This can be a clear competitive edge in entering the Southeast Asian market.” 

CEO Jeong predicted that as the core patents of Cerviray AI were registered this time, about 20 related patents and trademark rights would be registered one after another.

He pinched and said, “I have a feeling that something is going wrong in the field of artificial intelligence medical ICT in Korea due to the ‘Always about Special Listing on Technology’. 

If there is good quality big data, any deep learning developer can develop their own algorithm suitable for this. Deep learning developers around the world are developing their own 

algorithms for their big data. In addition, based on this, of course, they are publishing papers and issuing patents, and I think that the very natural business activities of technology 

companies have reached the bubble stage in Korea. It is turning into a money game place before the 4th revolution in Korea, which should have just eased regulations and raised its 

competitiveness normally, takes root.” In addition, he criticized that the responsibility for this is also a problem with the government's meticulous policy.

He questioned and said, “Unicorns are not created by some venture capitalists investing and special listing on technology. The most important point is whether technology and service models with global competitiveness lead to actual sales, and it is important to have market dominance through this. Currently, in Korea, there is a situation in which 

stakeholders cannot help laughing, telling each other that they will become unicorns by driving investments with the national tax fund, which is a national tax, in their own league. 

If there is no actual sales even after 4-5 years after investing more than 10 billion won, I wonder what the definition of a unicorn is in Korea, aside from global competitiveness.”

He then asked back, saying, “If the government ignores these behaviors, most venture entrepreneurs who run their companies with sincerity will inevitably feel betrayed by the 

government, which talks about relative deprivation and fair opportunities.”

Added, “Rather than being swept away by the unreasonable second venture bubble, we will become a growing company based on solid performance by laying the groundwork for overseas expansion step by step."
